Alaska Yellow Cedar Tapersawn Shakes

Producing yellow cedar tapersawn shakes on November 2, 2009. 400 bundles were shipped to New Zealand for new construction of a Cape Cod style B&B guesthouse. These 18″ x 5/8″ Tapersawn shakes to be used as exterior siding for the house. This is a quick and dirty edit of the video taken today at the mill. Beautiful wood and beautiful shakes!

Western Red Cedar JUMBO Handsplit Shakes

Many thanks to Goldband Shake & Shingle to allow WoodRoof.com into their mill to watch and film the production of these beautiful Western Red Cedar 1-1/4″ (32mm) JUMBO Handsplit & Resawn Shakes. This order of 16 squares (1600 sq ft or 150 m2) was produced in one day and shipped to Mendham, NJ USA in April 2013 to help restore a 100 year old barn.
