Don't be mislead by nails identified only as "galv", "Hot-galv", "H.D.G.", "tumbler galv", "mech. galv", "peen plated", or "electro-galv". Galvanized simply means "to coat iron or steel with a rust resistant zinc". It does not mean a specific process is effective over time. Actuall, only nails that are certified "hot-dipped in molten zinc" have the critical alloy layers that insure long-time corrosion-resistance.
